Open Ocean Surfing offers expert Surf Lessons for beginners to advanced skills.

A short drive from San Francisco or San Mateo.

Come for a day trip or spend the night at a bed & breakfast inn. You can even stay at the incredible Half Moon Bay State Park, camping right on the beach.

 Surfing Lessons

Lessons are available for beginning through advanced skill levels.

Children and adults can start out on large stable surfboards (soft and safe) before moving to more advanced gear - or bring your own board.

   Surf Camps  

Our private surfing lessons cover everything from ocean safety to proper surfing techniques and etiquette for every skill level.

We consider everything very carefully as we match beginners with the right gear and surfing conditions.

Parents are welcome at all times. Bring a lounge chair and your binoculars or a camera and relax on the beach! Don't be afraid to get in the water with them - a surfboard is available and you are never too old to surf!

Our Surf Lessons are offered All Year Long!
Learn to surf and experience the exhilaration of surfing in a safe and fun environment while learning about ocean safety and surfing etiquette. Our very popular surf lessons are available for all surfing levels every day of the week including holidays.

All participants must wear a wetsuit and be able to swim. Surfboards will be supplied by the instructor.

• Private Lessons: $90 per person
• Semi Private (2 people): $70 per person
• Group Lessons (3 people): $60 per person
• Group Lessons (4 people or more):
  $50 per person
• Inquire about Group Discounts for 6 or more
• Special Volume Discounts for several lessons when purchased as a package (for one person or more)
